New Work. Ruler Frame
Saw this frame in TKMAX [ spiritual resource centre of the world! I'm always rummaging in there and bringing home bargains to dismantle and incorporate into my mosaics ] a few weeks ago.Loved the ruler thing.
Started work assembling a few ideas the other day as the rulers really latched into some of the stuff around time and measurement. The woman just brought to mind the process of feeling continually stretched at the moment, in terms of energy, whats possible, whats not? Again the balance things prominent. Guess I'm feeling I'm balancing and stretching too. Shes a gorgeous image, the shape, the slickness, she screams of potential and possibility. The purple agates around her head symbolize how my head and thoughts keep swirling around.Mostly they swirl with positive thoughts around transplant and occasionally, around 3amish when I wake up with a 'kidney sweat' 'with fears and the what ifs? I feel this is a balanced response.....expressing the range of emotions, not invalidating one set to validate another. They are both necessary, yes its important to be positive, in fact I would view myself as a positive person...to me its not negative to express the fear, its human. Its been an interesting process working out the rules of vulnerability.....who I can be vulnerable with, who I protect from these feelings and those I share them with. There has been some surprises here!
This has got no title yet...I'm sure one will emerge. The watch faces feel important to the piece....I.suppose that's a simple interpretation around time...time passing, time waiting, time stopped.....but definitely not a waste of time! See I told you I am a positive person.
Hi Tracey the blog is great, very mindful and I am starting to process things in my life that I take for granted and in lots of ways abuse! I love a beer and never consider (much) the health implications for myself....my mum (god rest her) always said if you have your health you have everything! Your blog is bringing those words back to me with anewed meanings. I wish you and Mart the best and healthiest recovery. See you in Belguim? I hope so. Big hug
